It all started with Bethany Vaughn managing a Bikram studio in Sandy Springs. We had no website and a notebook for people to sign-in because studio software was just hitting the market!
We transitioned the studios to become Atlanta Hot Yoga, expanded to Peachtree Battle and Vinings, introduced Power Yoga to Atlanta, and then moved the Buckhead studio to Brookwood Square.
Over the years, Bethany has taught thousands of classes and built one of the most respected yoga teacher training programs in the Southeast, with hundreds of graduates.
And the entire time, as the leader of the studios, Bethany's vision of quality and affordability has remained the same.
Bethany has practiced yoga since 1995 and studied extensively, attending many trainings and workshops with renowned teachers. She received her advanced teaching certification with Ana Forrest, who is a primary influence along with several teachers of the Iyengar method, including Manuso Manos.
RHY has always been an expression of Bethany's love for Hot Yoga and Power Yoga, coupled with the precise alignment of each pose, allowing that pose to accomplish its purpose, sequenced in a way that you just can't get anywhere else.
Today, Red Hot Yoga focuses more than ever on the Power style of yoga. We are still dedicated to the quality of the yoga and the idea that we would like as many people to be able to practice as possible.
Meet the Owner:
Jamie is a Certified Yoga Teacher residing in Midtown Atlanta. His ability to find balance between a physical fitness regimen and serenity fueled his inspiration to teach other people the art of yoga. Jamie’s personal journey led him to complete his 200-hour yoga teacher certification through Red Hot Yoga in 2014 under Bethany Vaughn to become a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) through Yoga Alliance. In 2016, he began the quest to complete the 500-hour yoga teacher certification, also with Bethany, completing the training in 2017.
Jamie enjoys assisting yogis with finding inner peace and tranquility through physical movement of the body. Jamie feels the best part about teaching yoga is the joy of meeting his students exactly where they are in their personal journeys.
Jamie’s yoga philosophy is, “While on the mat, there is no pressure, ego, or judgment. Yoga is a series of poses and shapes; allow your body to be free and receptive to experiencing the mind-body connection that is within all of us. At that point, you will begin to enjoy the physical and mental benefits of yoga both on and off the mat!”
Jamie is also a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) in Georgia and Alabama. In addition to the individual state licensures, for the past decade, he has been nationally certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodyworkers (NCBTMB). Jamie holds an Associate of Science Degree from Gadsden State Community College in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Jacksonville State University, which is also in Business Administration. His Master of Business Administration Degree is from Virginia College.
